Meet Simon Gomes

My journey to becoming a mortgage broker began more than 18 years ago when I came to Canada as an international student with nothing more than a dream, determination, and hope for a better future. After graduating from the University of Windsor, I made Nova Scotia my home in 2011. It didn't take long to fall in love with the people, the communities, and the quality of life here, and I'm proud to call this province home.

Before becoming a mortgage broker, I spent more than 12 years building my career in the financial industry, working in a variety of roles that gave me extensive experience in helping people make informed financial decisions. Those years provided me with a deep understanding of lending, personal finance, and the importance of finding solutions that fit each client's unique situation.

I chose to become a mortgage broker because I wanted the freedom to truly put my clients first. My experience has shown me that every financial journey is different, and I believe people deserve advice that is tailored to their goals — not limited to a single lender's products. Whether you're a first-time homebuyer, a newcomer to Canada, refinancing your home, or facing a situation where it feels like every door has closed, I'm committed to exploring every possible option to help you move forward with confidence.

My own story is what makes my approach unique. I arrived in Canada with very little and, through hard work, perseverance, and smart financial decisions, built a portfolio of multiple investment properties. Much of that journey happened before I had professional mortgage industry experience, giving me valuable firsthand insight into the challenges and opportunities that many homeowners and investors face. Today, I combine my personal experiences with my financial expertise to help clients achieve their own dreams — from buying their first home to building long-term financial freedom.

When I'm not helping clients, you'll usually find me spending time with my family. My son, Lionel, and daughter, Avalyn, keep me happily busy. During the summer months, I enjoy gardening, camping, and fishing — making the most of everything Nova Scotia has to offer.
