Meet Ka Ki Wood

Ka Ki’s journey to becoming a mortgage broker didn’t start in a classroom — it started with her own mortgage statement. “I remember getting that first statement in the mail and being shocked at how little of my payments were actually going toward my principal,” she recalls. “It lit a fire in me to really understand how mortgages work.”

Her passion lies in guiding people through the complexity of home financing with steady, judgement-free support. She offers patience, clarity, and a deep commitment to helping people feel secure in one of the most emotional financial decisions they’ll ever make. Whether clients are buying their first home, rebuilding credit, or simply trying to make their day-to-day cash flow work better, Ka Ki’s goal is always the same: to understand each client’s situation and find tailored solutions that make sense, not just on paper, but in real life.

One of the most rewarding parts of her work is helping clients get a fresh start, especially through mortgage refinancing. “I love helping people consolidate debt, breathe a little easier, and build a new plan they can actually stick to. Seeing someone regain control of their finances — that’s incredibly powerful.”

Originally from Hong Kong, Ka Ki moved to Nova Scotia 20 years ago and also spent time living in Washington State. Her global perspective gives her an empathetic understanding of the diverse experiences that shape people’s financial journeys. She’s also fluent in Cantonese and proud to support clients in their preferred language whenever possible.

Outside of her work, Ka Ki’s life is grounded in family and the small, meaningful routines that bring her joy. A military spouse and mother of three, she finds balance in homemaking, reading mysteries, riding bikes, and tending to her backyard chickens. Her days often reflect the quiet resilience she brings to her professional life — intentional, steady, and anchored in care. She’s also a firm believer in the phrase “tidy house, tidy mind,” and sometimes, doing nothing at all is a well-earned reward.
